Are You Abusive?
How do you know if you are being abusive to your partner? Are you doing any of the following signs?
- Do you constantly check up on your partner? Call many times a day, check the mileage on the car, monitor calls, and ask where your partner has been and where she/he is going?
- Do you keep your partner away from family and friends?
- Do you try to keep your partner from going out - even to work or school?
- Do you criticize what he or she wears, does, says. Do you make your partner think they are crazy?
- Do you make your partner think THEY are at fault for things going on in YOUR life?
- Do you threaten to hurt your partner or people he/she cares about?
- Do you make your partner do sexual things in ways or in places which are uncomfortable for him/her?
- Do you shove, grab, slap, strangle or otherwise physically abuse your partner?
- Do you try to make her believe you did not hurt or scare her/him and that the concerns about your behavior or not valid?
If you answered yes to even one of these questions, you may be abusing your partner. If so, stop and get help:
